ASPEN, Colo. – Terrorism experts say terrorism is now less of a threat to the United States because of increased vigilance.
Former national intelligence director John Negroponte said Thursday during the Aspen Institute's Aspen Ideas Festival that the United States has made considerable progress bolstering its defenses.
The director of a commission that analyzed the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Philip Zelikow, says U.S. operations against terrorism abroad explain why there hasn't been another such domestic attack against the United States.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, Zelikow says the United States has broken up terrorist groups and set them on the run.
